No. They were using play money to get someone else to pay the game for them. The game is never free.
Actually the people loosing Carriers and Dreadnaughts were buying GTC
Or people running multiple accounts.
I would even go as far as some bigger Alliances needing more ISK then they could make in a day! So the rich man was king of the mountain
Now that the GTC has doubled - People are saying SCREW YOU!
Some will sell of their accounts as well..
